Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet weak characters, is among of the most celebrated American actors of our times. In the summer, while working with her father's business, Laura Linney became fascinated with theatre. Then, at Brown University she studied acting and at Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. Following her graduation at Brown University in the year 2000, she started her Broadway debut in the following year. Within two years of that, her first film hit the market, and following year, her debut on television. Since then, she has performed in many films and TV and stage productions. In her long career, she's won numerous awards. These includes the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Yet, despite numerous awards the theatre is still her primary passion and she continues to perform both on screen and on stage.
